I have always loved words. My parents spent many hours reading with us. As a young girl I loved keeping a journal and writing notes. Over the years, I have come to love words: writing them, listening to them, reading them and sharing them.
Most of all though, I have grown in my love of the Word. One of my favourite passages of God’s word is:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:1-5
I love God’s word and in the midst of my struggles of life- the busyness that crowds in, the weariness of the burden of sin, the mundane, the triumphs, the joys.. God’s word and The Word are consistent, unchanging and a firm foundation of truth that can be trusted. Other words I love- grace, hope, joy, salvation.
It has been 2 years since I started writing my words at Pursuits of God. During this time I have been so fortunate to see God use my thoughts and struggles to bless others, I have loved meeting and featuring wonderful women from across Australia and across the globe as they have shared their lives with me. I have also been really blessed humbled that people tune in and read.
To celebrate heading into our third year, I am having a giveaway of 3 things over the upcoming weeks. Something for the wall. Something for the family. Something for the soul. To make sure you are in the ‘loop’, make sure you are following Pursuits of God on Facebook and have Subscribed to Monday Pursuits. In the meantime, I think some cake is in order.
Happy Birthday Pursuits of God!
That is amazing Emily. Congratulations. It does not seem that long does it…time sure flies. I hope you enjoy the next two years.
